Recently, we learned about a family whose child, named Peter, suffered from biliary atresia, resulting in a liver transplant.  The mother was able to donate part of her liver for her child, and the surgery was successful.  Liver transplantation is a wonderful treatment which allows life for a child with biliary atresia.  However, it is not a cure and requires life long care including daily medication to prevent the liver from being rejected.

Due to the ongoing care required for little Peter, his mother is unable to work. His father is currently working but finances are very stressful. The family is hoping we could provide assistance to help them receive the medication little Peter needs in order to avoid rejection of his new liver. The cost of medication is $150 USD a month. We are hoping to contribute $100 USD a month toward the cost of the medication, with the family contributing the remaining $50 USD a month. Therefore, we are seeking to raise $1200 USD for Peter’s care for the next year.

The photos of little Peter before and after his liver transplant are just miraculous.
